MoiRandall's Measurement Guide
Please take the appropriate measurements of yourself, described below, before you order a MoiRandall's garment.

My system of measurements may be different from that of other garment makers, so please read the directions carefully. You will need a tape measure, a yardstick, and some assistance from a friend. Take the measurements on top of whatever other garments will be worn beneath the costume.

For a Shirt or Doublet

• Neck circumference (A): Distance around your neck in inches. Let the tape measure rest on your clavicle.
• Shoulder Width (G): Distance from the outer edge of your left shoulder across your back to the outer edge of your right shoulder.
• Shoulder Drop (E): Vertical distance down your spine from where you took the Neck Circumference measurement to where you took the Shoulder Width measurement.
• Chest Circumference (B): Distance around your chest at its widest.
• Waist circumference (C): Distance around your body at its narrowest. In most cases this is proportionally lower on a man than a woman.
• Back Length (F): Vertical distance down your spine from the level at which you took the Neck Circumference to the level at which you took the Waist Circumference.
• Total Sleeve Length (I): Distance along the top of your arm from the tip of your shoulder to your wrist.
• Wrist Circumference (H): Distance around your larger wrist.
• Upper Arm (K): For short sleeves and tudor sleeves. Distance from the outer edge of your shoulder to your elbow.
• Forearm (J): For tudor sleeves. Distance from your wrist to the tip of your elbow.

For a Lady's Bodice

• Neck circumference: Distance around your neck in inches. Let the tape measure rest on your clavicle.
• Shoulder Width: Distance from the outer edge of your left shoulder across your back to the outer edge of your right shoulder.
• Shoulder Drop: Vertical distance down your spine from where you took the Neck Circumference measurement to where you took the Shoulder Width measurement.
• Bust Circumference: Distance around your chest at the fullest expanse of the bust.
• Bust Level: Vertical distance down the spine from the level at which you took the Neck Circumference to the level at which the Bust Circumference was taken.
• Chest Circumference: Distance around your rib cage immediatly below the bust.
• Waist circumference: Distance around your body at its narrowest. In most cases this is proportionally lower on a man than a woman.
• Back Length: Vertical distance down your spine from the level at which you took the Neck Circumference to the level at which you took the Waist Circumference.

  Add these measurements if the bodice is to have sleeves:

• Total Sleeve Length: Distance along the top of your arm from the tip of your shoulder to your wrist.
• Wrist Circumference: Distance around your larger wrist.
• Upper Arm: For short sleeves and tudor sleeves. Distance from the outer edge of your shoulder to your elbow.
• Forearm: For tudor sleeves. Distance from your wrist to the tip of your elbow.

  Add this measurement if the bodice is to have a skirt:

• Waist to floor (N): Vertical distance from the floor to your waistline as you stand comfortably.

For a Cape

• Neck circumference (A): Distance around your neck in inches. Let the tape measure rest on your clavicle.
• Shoulder Width (G): Distance from the outer edge of your left shoulder across your back to the outer edge of your right shoulder.
• Shoulder Drop (E): Vertical distance down your spine from where you took the Neck Circumference measurement to where you took the Shoulder Width measurement.
• Shoulder Height (M): Distance from the ground to the nape of your neck.

For a Hat

• Forehead circumference (L): Distance around your head just above the eyebrow.
